When I embarked on the nomadic lifestyle five years ago, I had global aspirations. But the pandemic had other ideas, limiting my travels to the United States. The ensuing 67,000 miles I’ve put on my Prius have brought me to all the corners of our country. Along the way, I’ve seen some remarkable signs pointing to cities, towns, and streets that brought a smile to my face. I’ve captured those curiosities in this gallery for you to enjoy without the multiple transcontinental road trips they required. If the esoteric reasons I found them amusing don’t resonate with you, then just keep driving to the next sign.

Fun signs! There is one sign in the bunch that I’ve seen myself, several time. “No Name Rest Area”, along I-70, somewhere between Frisco and Glenwood Springs IIRC.
The Zzyzx Road sign reminds me of the name of cleric spell O in Ultima 3.
